Gaming giant will showcase forthcoming games due to release in the first half of 2022 but may still tease Breath of The Wild 2 and more.
Rumours of them rumble many weeks before Nintendo even mutter a tweet, but they’ve finally confirmed it – the first Nintendo Direct of 2022 is taking place on February 9th 2022 and will last around 40 minutes. The presentation will take place at 10pm GMT and will be streamed live on YouTube, focussing on games due for release in the the first half of 2022.
Expect to see Triangle Strategy, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp and open world Kirby and the Forgotten Land which are all expected to launch over the next few month. But what else can we expect to see?

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Splatoon 3, and Bayonetta 3 are all tentatively planned in for 2022. Ubisoft’s Mario + Rabbids is likely to be here for the summer. And of course, there’s Breath of the Wild 2, the sequel to one of the biggest console launch games of all time. Nintendo is expecting to release it this year, but could be saving it for the 2022 festive season.
As you’d expect, Twitter is already awash with rumours, fake stories and fan wish lists, with hopeful shouts of Mario Kart 9, F-Zero Switch, GoldenEye and a new Donkey Kong.
