The Booster Course Pass features remastered tracks from classic systems.
48! Yes you read that right, Nintendo announced at their Direct event tonight that they will be releasing 48 tracks in the form of paid DLC (Downloadable Content) for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch. We couldn’t be more excited and it’s probably the highlight of the Nintendo Direct for us, which is saying something as there was so much great stuff announced by the gaming giant.
The tracks are remastered from past Mario Kart games and will be released in waves throughout 2022 and 2023. The first wave arrives on March 18th 2022.
Gamers will have the opportunity to purchase the Booster Course Pass as a standalone piece of paid DLC or it will also be included at no additional cost as part of the package for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
Nintendo have confirmed the pack will cost $24.99, so expect it be around £24.99 in the UK. Pre-orders have already started in the Nintendo eShop.
Courses include fan-favourites such as Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain and Tour Tokyo Blur.
Being the Nintendo Switch’s best-selling game of all time (including taking the number 1 spot at the start of 2022), we’d imagine this will extend the game’s life well into 2023 and even 2024, when may be we will finally hear something about Mario Kart 9.
See you on the track!
