These are the games we’re most looking forward to playing…
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Arriving in 2023, RE4 is a remake of the 2005 game and this writer’s favourite entry in the action horror series. They are reimagining the storyline and updating some of the gameplay features for today’s gaming standards. Plus of course, the graphics will be overhauled for next generation consoles.
Street Fighter 6
The game we’re most excited about at Buzzhut, having ventured back into SF5 this year. Powered by the same graphics engine used for Resident Evil, the follow up adds new fighters, returning favourites, more modes and a graffiti paint art style which looks remarkably fresh. In the teaser, we also saw an open-world hub, similar to Splatoon or NBA 2K, where games can venture around a city and get into battles. Plus, the developers are adding real-time commentary to the game.
Resident Evil Village VR
Village gets the VR treatment, specifically PSVR2 treatment. Expect horror jumps and scares. The entire campaign will be playable in VR, utilising the new headset’s 4K displays and PS5’s 3D audio.
Final Fantasy XVI
The latest instalment in the long-running franchise will see the return of favourite summons, along with a new lead character – Clive Rosfield.
Rollerdome
From the creators of OlliOlliWorld, Rollerdome is a futuristic skater-shooter. It looks pretty brutal but with cartoon-ish style graphics.
Stray
The feline cyberpunk adventure comes to Ps4 and PS5 this year on July 19. The game will be included as part of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium membership.
